| Freedom Nip Pride, 2-1 | Mississippi Freedom starter Marcus Stroman turned in an exceptional performance against the Nashua Pride at Ballpark of New Team, resulting in a Mississippi win, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Stroman, now 8-4. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Jose A. Ramirez, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities.
Byron Buxton, who is rated as the 54th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Mississippi cause in the top of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Buxton said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Freedom saw their win-loss record go to 37-39. At the same time, the Pride fell to 27-50.
