 | Purple Warriors Pitching Ravaged by Snelling Saturday, July 28th, 2018 Caleb Snelling was at the head of a Portland hit parade today at Purple Warriors Stadium. The shortstop went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Olympics to a 16-2 victory over the Augusta Purple Warriors.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Snelling told reporters after the game. " Seems like it worked out pretty well for us today."
Purple Warriors skipper Rob Leary said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Caleb Snelling struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Snelling is swinging at a .325 pace on the year with no home runs, 9 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has played in 12 games. |   |
