Choppers Fall Short at San Juan
|
The San Juan Rough Riders had to overcome a big game from Connecticut left fielder Colin Winters to leave Ballpark of Kansas City with a 4-3 victory. Winters was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Connecticut has now lost 5 consecutive games.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With San Juan trailing 3-2, Brett Boswell hit a slider from Craig Kimbrel to right-center for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Rough Riders had a walk-off win.
"We'll savor this win," Boswell told the San Juan Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."
