Starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo pitched well enough to help the Connecticut Choppers beat the Erie Seawolves by the score of 11-3. The Choppers are off to a tough start, getting just their 6th win in 15 games.

In the top of the sixth inning, designated hitter Ryan Rua came through big-time for the Choppers. With Connecticut leading 3-0, he belted a grand slam home run.

"Yovani was throwing strikes, locating well," said Connecticut manager Brandon Zima.
