Bats Come Back Late to Clip Pride
|
Austin and Nashua put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Austin Bats trumped the Nashua Pride, 6-3, at Ballpark of New Team. Austin catcher Russell Martin was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Wade Davis got the save, the 6th for him this season.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the eighth inning. Facing Nashua hurler Angelo Aguirre, Howie Kendrick hit a double. The Bats went on to win.
"We've got a great group of guys," Martin said, "and we're having fun right now."
The Bats raised their record to 10-5.
