The Erie Seawolves topped the Richmond Bullet Club, 8-2, in Eastern League action at Jerry Uht Park. The player of the game was Erie pitcher Carlos Rodon. Rodon, now 1-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. The win brings the Seawolves to 9-11, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

Chipping in for Erie was third baseman Dustin Pedroia. He stroked a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Pedroia was 1-1 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
