Seager Lifts Choppers to 9-3 Win
|
Getting a good performance from shortstop Corey Seager, the Connecticut Choppers defeated the Florida Gators, 9-3. Seager was 1-1 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Choppers. Connecticut reliever Tony Watson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Cole Hamels was saddled with the loss. Losses have been rare for the Gators, who are now 17-6.
Making an impact for the home team was Rougned Odor. In the bottom of the sixth, the 26-year old second baseman had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 5-3, Choppers.
"We maximized our offense today," said Connecticut skipper Brandon Zima. "That makes everyone's life easier."
