In a low-scoring clash between Connecticut and Florida, pitcher Shelby Miller was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Connecticut in the 3-1 win. Craig Kimbrel closed the door for Connecticut, picking up his 5th save of the year. The loss lowers the Florida record to 17-8.
Oswaldo Arcia, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2017, aided the Connecticut cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Arcia.
