Antuna Excels in Regina Win
|
Regina played host to Mississippi at the friendly confines of Mosaic Stadium.
The Regina Reapers knocked off the Mississippi Freedom, 6-3, at Mosaic Stadium. Yasel Antuna, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Regina won. The shortstop was 3-4 with 2 triples, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Regina starter Luis Severino was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-6. Zach Britton was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 17 save opportunities.
Antuna contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for Regina in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, Antuna took a cutter from Marcus Stroman and stroked the triple to right-center. His 6th triple of the season allowed the Reapers to leap in front, 4-2.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Antuna told a Regina Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Reapers improve their record to 30-38 with the win over Mississippi.
