Pride Reel Off Another Win
|
The game between Nashua and Raleigh is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Nashua Pride defeated the Raleigh Renegades, 7-4, in Western League action at Ballpark of New Team, with Nashua second baseman Gavin Lux named player of the game. The winner was Drew Smyly, who threw 98 pitches over 7 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits.
The Pride got a big at-bat from designated hitter Chris Taylor. For the game, Taylor was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 42nd hit of the season gave Nashua a 5-4 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Lux said.
The last-place Renegades have dropped 7 straight games.
