Coyotes Win at Florida, 9-6
|
Florida got a terrific performance from right fielder David Fleming, but it wasn't enough to beat the Las Vegas Coyotes. Las Vegas won the Yankee Stadium contest, 9-6. Fleming was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Las Vegas reliever Cody Anderson picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Cole Hamels was collared with the loss. The Coyotes bumped their record to 42-31 with this latest triumph.
The Coyotes got a big at-bat from shortstop Colby Woodmansee. For the game, Woodmansee was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 67th hit of the season gave Las Vegas a 1-0 lead.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Las Vegas manager Greg H.
