Indians Score Late to Upend Seawolves, 4-3
|
The Indianapolis Indians faced a tough opponent in Erie pitcher Keyvius Sampson, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Jerry Uht Park by a final score of 4-3. Sampson went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Indianapolis's record now stands at 48-54, placing them last in the Western League North West Divison.
The Indians got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Cavan Biggio. For the game, Biggio was 1 for 1 with a double. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 18th double of the season gave Indianapolis a 4-3 lead.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Erie manager Terry Francona.
