| MuckDogs Even With Schooners After Home Win | The Fairview MuckDogs and the Avon Lake Schooners will take the Round 1 to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the MuckDogs beat the Schooners 4-2 at Stars Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Fairview right-hander Tyson Ross was named player of the game in the win after he threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball.
Fairview took the lead in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, Yasiel Puig stroked a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, MuckDogs.
Avon Lake manager Jon Oliver said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The next game is scheduled for Friday, October 11th, 2019 at Casterly Rock. Slated to start are Aaron Nola for Fairview and Daniel Norris for Avon Lake.
