Extra-Inning Win by Bats over Choppers
|
Austin starter Parker Bean had a strong outing against the Connecticut Choppers at Houston Grounds. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Cody Allen notched his 8th save in 10 chances. The Bats, at 59-46, lead by one game in their division.
The Bats got a big at-bat from pinch hitter John Ryan Murphy. For the game, Murphy was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the 11th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Austin a 5-2 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Murphy said.
