The Eugene Emeralds bested the Erie Seawolves by a score of 8-6, with first baseman Daniel Murphy getting the main credit. On the day, Murphy went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Emeralds. Max Scherzer got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Earning his 1st save of the year was Karl Kauffmann.

With Eugene leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Murphy hit a fastball from Keyvius Sampson for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Emeralds ahead, 5-0.
