Arrieta Tames Rough Riders Sunday, September 20th, 2020 Jake Arrieta was throwing strikes early and getting in the count, his manager said after the Indianapolis Indians hurler tossed a 1-hit, complete game shutout against the San Juan Rough Riders. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Arrieta. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Arrieta walked 2 and struck out 2 in the 6-0 victory. In 24 starts this season Arrieta has chalked up a 8-8 record and a 3.23 ERA.
