| Seawolves Deal Gators Painful Loss | The Erie Seawolves overcame a good performance by Florida designated hitter J.D. Martinez to knock off Florida, 5-4, at Jerry Uht Park. Martinez was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Steve Geltz picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. Junichi Tazawa was tagged with the loss. Erie has now won 3 in a row.
Tyler Naquin was the walk-off hero for Erie. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Seawolves right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place sure got loud," said Terry Francona, the Erie manager.
