| Bats Subdue San Juan, 3-2 | Austin starter Michael Pineda pitched effectively against the San Juan Rough Riders at Ballpark of Kansas City. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Pineda, now 5-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 2 earned runs. Wade Davis was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 26 of 29 save opportunities.
Bryson Brigman was a key contributor to the win for the Bats. In the top of the seventh with one out, the light-hitting third baseman stroked a home run to left. He went 1-4 with a home run.
"We found a way to get it done," Pineda said.
The first-place Bats, at 68-60, now lead their division by 3 games.
