| Choppers Win at Raleigh, 7-3 | Raleigh left fielder Keon Broxton was sensational. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Connecticut beat the Renegades, 7-3. Broxton was named the player of the game despite the loss. Chris Sale, the winner, improved to 8-9. He held Raleigh to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Tony Watson converted his 8th save in 10 tries.
The Choppers beat the Renegades in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Rougned Odor produced in the top of the sixth. Batting against Raleigh pitcher Charlie Furbush, Odor gave his team a 5-2 lead when he hit a bases-clearing double.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Odor said after the game.
The Choppers are now 69-61, while the Renegades fall to 45-83.
