| Emeralds Outmuscle Nashua, 12-8 | The Eugene Emeralds defeated the Nashua Pride, 12-8, in Eastern League action at Blue Wings Ballpark, with Eugene designated hitter Zack Collins named player of the game. Eugene reliever Neil Ramirez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Johnny Cueto absorbed the loss. Nashua's current losing streak is now 5 games.
Ryan Boldt had a big 2-run double for the Emeralds in the bottom of the second inning. With Eugene leading 3-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Johnny Cueto and stroked the double to right. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Emeralds ahead, 5-1.
"We maximized our offense today," said Eugene skipper Dave Turgeon. "That makes everyone's life easier."
