| Emeralds Stun Schooners, 5-3 | Getting a good performance from designated hitter Justin Bour, the Eugene Emeralds defeated the Avon Lake Schooners, 5-3. Bour went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Emeralds. Eugene reliever Arquimedes Caminero picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Michael Blazek was saddled with the loss. Even with the win, the Emeralds have a dismal 38-72 record.
Bour had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 3-1 fastball from Michael Blazek, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Emeralds a 5-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Bour.
"It was a solid team effort," said Bour after the game.
