| Bats Deal Rough Riders Painful Loss | People near Ballpark of Brooklyn no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.
In a close game at Ballpark of Brooklyn, the Austin Bats edged the San Juan Rough Riders, 5-4. Austin catcher Derek Norris earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner was Austin reliever Cody Allen, now 1-2. The loser was Sean Doolittle.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Norris hit a curveball from Sean Doolittle for a solo home run. The Bats, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Norris said.
Austin has a record of 14-14.
