| Gators Topple Renegades with Late Rally | The Gators had to overcome a fine performance from Raleigh pitcher Aaron Sanchez to grab a 8-2 win at Raiders Ballpark. Sanchez allowed no earned runs over 7 innings. Florida is in first place in the Eastern League South East Divison with a record of 70-76.
Had J.D. Martinez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Martinez hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Gators.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Martinez.
