Indians Come Back Late to Clip Reapers | The Indianapolis Indians topped the Regina Reapers, 6-5, with youngster Cavan Biggio playing a key role. Biggio was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Indians in the win. Jaron Long got the win, improving to 9-9. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Silvino Bracho, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Had Ketel Marte not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Marte hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Indians.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Regina manager Scott Boychuk . "But we decided not to take it."
With the win, the Indians have a record of 76-74.
