Indians Stymie Nashua, Take 5-1 Win | The Indianapolis Indians racked up a win at Ballpark of New Team, bumping off the Nashua Pride, 5-1. Shaun Anderson, who started for Indianapolis, pitched effectively for his team. Anderson, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Indianapolis is now 8-7.
With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the sixth inning, designated hitter Joe Mauer delivered big for the Indians. Indianapolis was leading 2-1 when he belted a 3-run home run.
