| Bats Sneak Past Renegades, 4-3 | The Austin Bats picked up a win at Ballpark of Brooklyn, knocking off the Raleigh Renegades, 4-3. On the mound for Austin was right-hander Noah Syndergaard, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Bats are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 8th win in 20 games.
Austin took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, shortstop Addison Russell hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Russell.
