| Indians Cut Down Bullet Club, 5-2 | Indianapolis starter Williams Perez had a strong outing against the Richmond Bullet Club at Victory Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Perez went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-2. The win pushes Indianapolis to a record of 9-10.
Joe Mauer had a big run-scoring single for the Indians in the bottom of the second inning. With Indianapolis trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Taijuan Walker and stroked the single to center. It was his 13th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Indians ahead, 2-1.
Mauer told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
