Rough Riders Fall to .500 After Loss to Gators | San Juan got a terrific performance from pitcher Keegan Thompson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Florida Gators. Florida won the Ballpark of Kansas City contest, 4-1. Thompson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Dellin Betances was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. With the win, Florida elevates its record to 10-9.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the top of the sixth inning. Facing San Juan hurler Keegan Thompson, David Peralta, who is tied for 6th in the EL in total bases with 40, drew a walk. The Gators went on to win.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Florida manager Steve Strzepek . "Our pregame was pretty good."
