| Gators Roll to 9-0 Win Over Bats | The Florida Gators thumped the Austin Bats, 9-0, at Ballpark of Brooklyn. Ryan Lidge was a big reason his team got the win. Lidge went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Jake Arrieta, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held the Bats to no earned runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The loss drops Austin to 9-14.
One of the key players for the Gators was center fielder Jon Jay, who drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning. For the game, Jay was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
