| Choppers Drop Renegades, 8-4 | With left fielder Yoenis Cespedes leading the charge, the Connecticut Choppers defeated the Raleigh Renegades, 8-4, at Houston Grounds. Cespedes, who is tied for 7th in the EL in triples with 1, was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jon Lester, credited with the win, is now 3-3. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Connecticut, now 15-10, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Salvador Perez contributed to the Connecticut win. The two-time Great Glove Award winner stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the third. For the game, Perez was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
