| Kershaw Fires Shutout in Florida Victory | In an outstanding outing, Florida Gators starter Clayton Kershaw tamed the Eugene Emeralds with a 3-hit shutout at Blue Wings Ballpark today. The Florida hurler went the distance, finishing with 10 strikeouts and no walks in the 3-0 win.
"He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to Eugene manager Dave Turgeon. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
This season Kershaw has fanned 48 in 44.1 innings and collected a 4-1 record with a 1.62 ERA. |
