| Ross K's 11 En Route to 6-1 Schooners Win | Avon Lake used a superb performance from starting pitcher Joe Ross to down the Raleigh Renegades, 6-1. Kenley Jansen, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. Avon Lake is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 1st in 3 games.
Ross, who dominated for Avon Lake, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 11. Raleigh batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Feels good to get the job done," Ross said after the game.
