Reapers Jolt Rough Riders with Late Rally | The Regina Reapers relied on the hitting of second baseman Cory Spangenberg to stop the San Juan Rough Riders, 4-3. For the game, Spangenberg went 3-4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 times. Regina reliever Mike Dunn picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Keegan Thompson was saddled with the loss. San Juan has now lost 4 in a row.
Had Mike Trout not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Trout hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Reapers.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Regina manager Scott Boychuk . "It's usually not just one thing." | | | | |
