| Rough Riders Bridle Bats, 4-2 | San Juan got a strong outing from Jason Hammel as the Rough Riders defeated the Austin Bats, 4-2, at Ballpark of Brooklyn. Hammel got the win, improving to 3-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Hammel allowed 2 earned runs. Getting the save was Sean Doolittle, his 8th.
With one out in the top of the sixth, Jose Abreu stroked a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 58th hit of the season and put San Juan in front, 3-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Abreu told the San Juan Chronicle.
The third-place Bats have lost 4 straight games.
