| Bats Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus San Juan | It was a good time at Ballpark of Brooklyn, where fans came to watch the San Juan Rough Riders and Austin Bats get after it.
The Austin Bats downed the San Juan Rough Riders, 6-3, at Ballpark of Brooklyn. The Bats were led by Derek Norris, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Michael Pineda picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-3. He struck out 6 in 6 innings. Cody Allen finished the game for Austin and earned his 2nd save.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the third inning. That's when shortstop Jonathan Schoop, who is on pace for 113 RBI this season, drew a walk. The Bats went on to win.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Norris said after the game.
The Bats now have a record of 31-32 with the win over San Juan.
