| Choppers Turn Back Richmond, 3-1 | In a tight game between the Connecticut Choppers and the Richmond Bullet Club, pitcher Chris Sale was terrific on the mound. The Connecticut left-hander was named the player of the game in Connecticut's 3-1 win. Craig Kimbrel earned the save, his 1st. The Choppers have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 3 games.
Connecticut took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Salvador Perez stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Choppers.
In postgame comments to the Connecticut News, Perez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
