| Freedom Nip Blue Jays, 5-4 | Not everyone stuck through the 52-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Mississippi Freedom eked out a 5-4 win versus the Winnipeg Blue Jays at Ballpark of Columbus. Nobody did more than pitcher Marcus Stroman, who captured player of the game honors. Stroman went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 7-4.
It could have been a different outcome for Mississippi, had it not been for Jacob Wilson, the 26-year old second baseman . Wilson contributed a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to put Mississippi up, 2-1.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Mississippi manager Justin Zima.
The Freedom' win now puts them at 33-38.
