| Pride Need Extras to Top Indians | Nashua starter Justin Verlander pitched effectively against the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. The win was credited to Andrew Miller in relief. His record improves to 2-6. Jared Hughes took the loss. The last-place Pride improved to 36-61.
Derek Dietrich had the most critical at-bat for Nashua. With two in the top of the tenth inning, Dietrich hit a first pitch slider from Jared Hughes for a 2-run double. It put Nashua in front, 4-2.
In postgame comments, Verlander said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
