| Gators Lose to Schooners, 6-5 | The Avon Lake Schooners eked out a 6-5 win versus the Florida Gators at Yankee Stadium. Nobody did more than catcher Buster Posey, who captured player of the game honors. The winning continues for Avon Lake, with the latest making it 7 straight.
The Schooners got a big at-bat from shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. For the game, Tulowitzki was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Avon Lake a 3-0 lead.
"This team is on a mission," said Posey, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
