| Bats Lose to Freedom, 5-2 | Spirited fans at Ballpark of Brooklyn greeted the Austin Bats for their clash with the Mississippi Freedom.
Mississippi Freedom starter Kevin Gausman was in fine form against the Austin Bats at Ballpark of Brooklyn, leading his team to a 5-2 win. The winning pitcher was Gausman, now 6-5. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6.
Brandon Belt, who is tied for 10th in the WL in hits with 113, helped out the Mississippi cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Gausman said after the game.
Mississippi has now won 3 straight, while the Bats have lost 4 in a row.
