| Gators Throttle Renegades, 6-1 | Raleigh pitcher Andrew Cashner gave the Gators all they could handle, but in the end, Florida left Yankee Stadium with a 6-1 win. Cashner allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits over 6 innings. The first-place Gators have a one-game lead in their division.
Francisco Cervelli was a key contributor to the win for the Gators. In the bottom of the seventh with two out, the light-hitting catcher stroked a double to left-center. He went 1 for 1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Cervelli told the Florida Daily.
