| Big Day by Montgomery Ignites Renegades Win | The 2019 season is getting ugly for Richmond.
The Raleigh Renegades beat the Richmond Bullet Club, 12-3, at Ballpark of Bullet Club. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Troy Montgomery, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Even with the win, the Renegades have a dismal 21-40 record.
Starling Marte, who is a two-time All-Star, helped out the Raleigh cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the right fielder went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Richmond manager Scott Entsminger. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
