| Paredes Hits 2 home runs in Pride Win | Not everyone stuck through the 57-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Nashua Pride knocked off the Las Vegas Coyotes, 11-8, at Ballpark of New Team. Jimmy Paredes, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Nashua won. The third baseman hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Norman Phillips picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Clay Buchholz took the loss.
The Pride got a big at-bat from shortstop Gavin Lux. For the game, Lux was 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Nashua a 9-8 lead.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Lux said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
The second-place Pride improved to 33-31.
