| Polanco Slugs Bats to 10-5 Win | The Austin Bats and Eugene Emeralds completed their game despite the rain.
A 4-RBI performance from the 27-year old right fielder Gregory Polanco helped the Austin Bats beat the Eugene Emeralds, 10-5. Austin, now 37-35, holds second place in the Western League North West Divison.
The Bats got a big at-bat from catcher John Ryan Murphy. For the game, Murphy was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Austin a 4-2 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Polanco told the Austin Observer.
