| Freedom Bridle Choppers, 2-1 | Mississippi got a first-rate effort from pitcher Marcus Stroman, who frustrated Connecticut hitters en route to a 2-1 Freedom triumph at Ballpark of Columbus. The win was Jim Henderson's in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Francisco Liriano took the loss for Connecticut. Picking up the save was Mike Morin, his 12th.
Mississippi shortstop Francisco Lindor changed the complexion of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when he belted a 2-run home run off Francisco Liriano. His 12th home run of the season put Mississippi in front, 2-1.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Stroman said.
With the win, Mississippi goes to 40-31, while the Choppers fall to 39-33.
