| Des Moines's Reyes Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits | It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Randy Reyes, it came around today.
The 26-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Ballpark of New York to pace the Des Moines Rebels to a 6-4 victory over the New York Desperados.
New York skipper Omar Vela told reporters in the press room that "Reyes deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Reyes hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Randy Reyes singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this year Reyes is batting .440 with no home runs, 3 RBIs and 8 runs scored. |
