| Late Rally by Gators Secures Win | Florida first baseman Joey Votto played a vital role in his team's 5-3 triumph over Erie. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for Florida. Florida bumps their record to 32-46 with the win.
Had Ryan Lidge not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Lidge hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Gators.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Votto told a Florida Daily reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
