| Schooners Continue Skid Thanks to Martinez, Gators | Florida and Avon Lake duked it out at Casterly Rock and the Gators came out victorious.
The Florida Gators topped the Avon Lake Schooners by the score of 7-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder J.D. Martinez. Martinez went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Gators on the day. Corey Kluber, credited with the win, is now 6-6. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 7.1 innings.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when third baseman Martin Prado drew a walk. The Gators went on to win.
Prado called the triumph "a good team win."
