Spangenberg Sensational, 5-for-6 | It was high-fives all around for Cory Spangenberg at Mosaic Stadium today.
He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Nashua Pride. Spangenberg smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 14-4 win.
"Cory was hitting everything," said Reapers manager Scott Boychuk . "It really was a special game for him."
In the opposing dugout, Pride manager Gary Van Tol told BNN beat writers that Spangenberg "ambushed" the club.
"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," he said. "Hopefully, Spangenberg oversleeps next time."
Cory Spangenberg singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
To date, Spangenberg has collected 84 hits for a .295 average. He has posted 2 home runs, scored 31 runs and driven in 43 runs. |
