Bullet Club Prevail, 7-6, Over Erie | Erie third baseman Manny Machado was sensational. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Richmond beat the Seawolves, 7-6. Machado was named the player of the game despite the loss. Richmond reliever Andrew McKirahan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Branden Pinder absorbed the loss. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Aroldis Chapman.
The Bullet Club took the lead in the top of the fifth when Jose Bautista banged a two-out home run. Richmond had been trailing 5-3, but Bautista hit a first pitch fastball from Alex Cobb for a 3-run home run.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Bautista told the Richmond Daily News.
The win takes Richmond to 4-4.
